I bought this system for: br / br / 1. Save space! Its footprint is much smaller than my gargantuan TEAC receiver with KLH speakers and Polk subwoofer.br / 2. Improving the home theater experience with the update as well - from one system Franken to rationalize a brand approach.br / br / I was also skeptical while taking all major components of my old system, and replacing them with these tiny speakers. If skeptical, in fact, I left the two systems in place to compare. I would not have wasted my time: For the price (less than three cents to Dell), this system has far exceeded my expectations.Sound was full and rich, the subwoofer really well run although it is not powered, and the peaks were spectacular. Watched the latest James Bond to hear roar of explosions, whispers, shards of glass fall ... everything was really thanks well.br / br / Pros: br / - After installation, there is a microphone that you can determine if you listen - and then press a button and the car is to calibrate the sound configuration theater. I did it right after reading the suggestion of many tests, not sure how it worked well, but sounds fantastic.br / - The iPod dock will work with newer iPods and iPhones - and would even play Pandora Off My iPhone. Someone could be watching a movie on the main unit, while the S-Air speaker is connected to the radio. Have not used too much yet, but will handy.br / br / Gripes: br / - Expect to read some specific manuals during installation and initial configuration.There are important functions in the system but they are not presented very well.br / - The S-Air speaker that comes with this system seems to mislead some buyers into thinking it's a wireless system home theater. It is far from that of the box - it has only one speaker auxiliary is not wireless quality home movies. You can buy over wireless technology more Sony.br / - The S-function air seems like it may interfere with my wireless internet. Need to investigate further. Apparently, you can change "channels" for S-units of the air, so may not be a problem.br / - The biggest gripe: the son.Nobody seems to ever get this right ... Yes, Sony uses their own "owner" of connecting the rear of the unit, but you can splice somewhere in the middle and add a few feet of wire. It's a bit ridiculous to some of the design and installation time I'd really rather have avoided.br / - You have very little power options nothing else in this system. There is an optical digital audio input, one RCA audio input and taking 1 / 8 AUX audio in the front. / Br - DVD changer. NOT Blu-ray. Not a problem for me, but worth mentioning.br / br / In the whole system sounds incredible and saved a lot of space. The speakers at the front turn really pretty. But - if you happen to have a few components you expect to plug into this system (well, nothing more than a component, really), you might look elsewhere. Sony seems to be it 'all inclusive' system and for some reason you do not have the opportunity to plug much into it. br / br / Hope this helps some potential buyers.
